ATEX systems and manifolds
ATEX certified hydraulic systems are supplied to a customer in the loading technology industry. The systems are used to lower, hoist and slewing a loading arm.
Loading arms are used to safely load and unload (flammade) liquids and gasses in a reliable and economical way. These liquids and gasses come in a wide range of viscosities and temperatures, and are loaded and unloaded from and to a storage tank (or vehicle) to (oil) tankers.
A loading arm system is a steel construction, in which the arm is in complete balance. The system consists of a single hose to load and unload the liquids or gasses. The loading arm is equipped with a emergency release coupling, which ensures that the arm will released from the (oil)tanker in case of emergency. Because these loading arms are installed in environments with an explosive atmosphere, all hydraulic systems and components need to be ATEX certified. These hydraulic systems are built for ATEX zone 1 and 2.
The hydraulics systems consist of a 2 x 7,5kW hydraulic power pack and manifolds. The capacity of the power pack and manifolds depends on the capacity of the loading arm. To protect the power pack and manifolds from the rough environments, the power pack and manifolds are built in stainless steel containers.
Holland Hydraulics provided the customer with consultancy, engineering, production, installation, commissioning, and full training of the complete system at customer’s site.
