Holland Hydraulics B.V. has supplied hydraulic systems that are used in the marine access gangway technology.  An offshore gangway is used as a bridge between two vessels or between a fixed object and a floating installation to transfer people, cargo or equipment. Most of the gangway systems are installed in explosive environments. In that case, all hydraulic systems and components need to be ATEX certified.

Our ATEX hydraulic systems are used for luffing, slewing and telescoping the gangway. The hydraulics are also used for lowering/lifting, slewing and telescoping a crane which is part of the gangway installation and used for moving goods from a fixed object to the floating installation.

The hydraulic systems consist of stainless steel ATEX certified hydraulic power packs, with e-drives between the 7,5 and 55kW, and axial piston pumps from 20- to 120 L/Min. The power and amount of drives depend on the crane and gangway capacity. Each power pack contains a manual override in case of emergency situations. All functions, as mentioned above, are controlled by control manifolds.

Holland Hydraulics provided the customer with consultancy, engineering, production, installation, commissioning and full training of the complete system at customer’s site.
