Holland Hydraulics B.V. has supplied hydraulic systems that are used for road tunnel ventilation systems in the tunnel construction industry. These ventilation systems are able to bring fresh air when required and will suck up smoke in case of fire. The hydraulic systems are used to set the angle of the ventilation systems, wherein each ventilator will have its own hydraulics power pack. The blue coloured power packs are meant to bring fresh air, the red power packs are used to suck up the smoke in case of fire.

We engineered a modular system for these ventilator systems. This hydraulic system is redundantly built, because of the high operational reliability requirements. In case one of the pump assemblies fails, there will be a second pump assembly to make sure the angle can be set. It is also possible to override manually in case both pumps assemblies fail. This, to make sure the ventilator angle can be set in any case.
